Reaper's RubbishAbout me, My life and BXB
March 22 2nd Season OverSo the end of my second season on Football Manager Live as now come to a close. Before the season kicked of I strengthened my team with a whole host of young talent. As the season was about to kick off I was quite gutted when a few teams from other federations decided to switch to the Daytime Federation.
With this happening I stepped down back in to the championship after a short discussion with the person who runs the federation as my team would not survive in such a harsh and hotly contested league.
Unfortunately with so many teams coming over the championship was an even harder prospect for my team than the year before. With this in mind I had set my goal to finish in the top ten.
After many close battles I achieved this goal and actually finished one place higher than last season. Which is a huge success as the league was a lot tougher and my young team are really starting t
o show promise. The highlight of the season though is the 2-0 win over Marienlyst who were eventually crowned champions and are also ranked 37th in the Game World.
With a good size transfer budget to spend and my team improving all the time thanks to most being between the ages of 17 and 19 things are looking good and depending on how promotion is worked this season my goal next time will to be to survive the dreaded drop or to win the DFA Championship.
February 25 My First Season is Over on FM LiveWell over the last few weeks I have been taking my small band, of what at times I thought was useless players, through battle after battle to try and achieve a small amount of success in the DFA Championship.
After a poor start to the season where after the first 20 games in the league I had only managed to win 5 games I set my self a target finish that I would be happy with. This target was to finish inside the top 20. A realistic goal that meant that I only had to finish above 7 other teams.
With the season flying by It looked that a top 20 finish was defiantly possible if I managed to get a few good results but with 15 games remaining my team decided to that my goal was beneath them and after a run of 13 games unbeaten which saw me notch up 11 straight wins I managed to finish a very respectable 6th in the league.
This is a fantastic finish but the icing on the cake is that due to only two teams above me being active I have now been promoted to the DFA Premiership where I will set my sights on surviving and just overall strengthening my team. February 14 Football Manager Live BetaAnyone who knows me will know that I have always been a huge fan of the Championship Manager and Football Manager games for as long as they have been around. So when Sports Interactive let people sign up for a chance to Beta test the new Football Manager Live title I was rather excited.
After about 6 months of waiting though I finally got my invite through and have spent the last week hammering the game and getting used to how different it is from the traditional Football Manager games.
For those of you who do not know what Football Manager Live is though here is a description from the press release.
“Football Manager Live is a brand new concept in football management and allows you to build a club from scratch to compete against friends and rivals online for the ultimate in Football Manager bragging rights. It’s the definitive test of football management skills, allowing you to set-up mini-leagues amongst your friends, bid in player auctions and compete in live matches 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Matches take place in real-time with a range of tactical options for managers to control as they follow all the action via the realistic 2D match engine. In addition, the in-game chat option means managers can exchange comments on the virtual touchline, whilst other aspiring managers can view their competitors and learn their tactics”
So it sounds rather different and I have to admit I was sceptical at first but it is looking like Sports Interactive may have made the most addictive Football Management title to date. From picking your squad to playing a game it is all easily done and if you are not sure on anything there are some truly great people to help you.
Anyway I will be looking at adding more info on the game as I think of what to put but if any of you are interested in learning more about the game then feel free to message me or check out Nik The Mods Blog which is all about the world of football manager and his experiences with it. His blog can be found here.

Though i have just been reading that microsoft plan to give users a free live arcade game because of the problems over christmas. Though i am not sure if we will get to choose one or if it will be a game of thier choice. Either way it is a nice geasture but if i do get the choice i have no idea what i will get as the main game that i would want is swos and i already have that.
